OBJECTIVES

• Discuss the definition of myofascial pain
• Discuss how TMJ disorder relates to myofascial pain
• Describe the head & neck anatomy involved in myofascial pain
• Define trigger points in the head & neck area and how they can be located
• Discuss treatment strategies including trigger point injections
• Describe various trigger point medications including onabotulinumtoxinA (Botox, Xeomin) and local anesthetics
• Discuss the use of onabotulinumtoxinA (Botox, Xeomin) for migraine and headache treatment
